Magic Tricks - Black Art

Black art is an old form of magic that is rarely used today in its original form. The effect black art produces is fantastic, it is as close to trick photography as you can get without a camera!

A magician practising black art will find a stage and dim the lights. While he and his assistants are wearing white, the audience can see them. The performers then command items to appear and move around. Versions of 'sawing a woman in half' are performed and you can see the two halves moving round the stage, only to be melted back together, or just vanish. The possibilities are endless, and all leave the audience feeling mystified.

The theory behind black art is that everything in black won't be seen against a black background. This means at the start of the performance, there can be many items on the stage covered in a black cloth and they won't be seen. The magician simply removes the cloth and voila, an item has appeared. Disembodied bodies can move around by wearing black trousers, or a black jumper. Assistants dressed completely in black can make objects, including people, fly around the stage.

This form of magic really allows the imagination to go wild. Many things are possible with a bit of creativity and a pot of black paint! Black art is truly the cleverest and easiest magic to perform.

Black art is often performed in silence as it is a mystical event to watch, however do not be afraid to talk - your voice will be very powerful coming from the darkness, heightening the illusion.

Although to you, the performer, nothing will seem like magic, to the audience, the whole performance will blow their minds away. It is highly recommended to make a video of the performance so you can see the show from the other side of the stage. From your side of the stage, everything is visible - you can see the props and assistants.

To improve the illusion, some artists have lights above, below and to the side of the stage gently shining at the audience to further reduce the amount they can see. In complete darkness, however, a very eerie performance can be achieved. Another option is to use 'black-light' (i.e. UV light), which makes white and several other colours come to life, leaving black in darkness.

To end the performance, the magician has many possibilities ranging from floating off the stage, to gradually being engulfed by darkness (to do this, use a large piece of black cloth that starts on the floor and is slowly lifted up by two assistants to block you from view).

In a nutshell, your imagination and creativity is the only limit to this fine art. Hudora Kick Scooter for Teens Adult –Folding, Height Adjustable, Rear Friction Brake, Big Smooth Wheels With 230 City Alumium Scooter (230MM & 205MM ) – Black / White (Black) ~ kick scooter hudora

How To Find Hidden Money In Your Hobby

What Is A Hobby?

Ask 10 different people what a hobby is, and you will no doubt get 10 different answers. It is also possible that all 10 answers are correct! Several factual sources were consulted to define a hobby.

Links to dozens of free and informative hobby sites appear at the conclusion of this article.

The library dictionary defines a hobby as "a pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in for relaxation."

An online dictionary calls it "an auxiliary activity (synonyms: avocation, by-line, sideline, spare-time activity)."

A popular online encyclopedia gives this definition: "a spare-time recreational pursuit."

A hobby is therefore an activity you perform in your spare time for pleasure or relaxation. However, none of those definitions say anything about money.

How Much Is Your Hobby Costing You?

You will have to spend some amount of money in order to enjoy most hobbies. If you collect coins, you have to spend paper money in order to gather enough change to collect. A funny headline collection requires a newspaper subscription. Even cloud watching might have expenses if you choose to photograph your subjects and collect the pictures in albums.

The title of this section, however, is not meant to inquire about the cost of performing your hobby. Instead, it is meant to spur you into looking deeply at your hobby to see if any money-making opportunities exist.

Perhaps you are performing your hobby in a unique way that could benefit others with the same interest. The internet makes it easy to compile your hobby secrets into an information product and offer it for sale.

How To Uncover Your Special Opportunity

The number and types of hobbies are as varied as the number and types of people who perform them. A comprehensive list of profit opportunities in hobbies is simply not possible.

However, here are three examples of how you can start looking for hidden income in your hobby.

1. A hunter decides to raise hunting dogs. This breed of dog excels at hunting squirrels, but is known for its poor performance in identifying other small game as prey. One day, while leaving the hunting section of the local department store, he cuts through the toy section.

The collection of stuffed forest animals gives him an idea. He buys a collection of small stuffed forest animals and a bottle of squirrel scent. Soon his dogs are hunting all kinds of prey like champions. He receives hundreds of requests for more information after he posts his success on a popular online hunting forum.

This is a perfect opportunity to write a how-to e-book about training this breed of dog to hunt more than squirrels. There is obviously a niche market rabid for this information. He could also start a paid membership forum to complement his e-book.

2. A college student graduates and enters into a job market that is highly competitive with a high turnover rate. After each successive layoff due to downturns in the industry, she is forced to upgrade her resume over and over again in order to re-enter the same industry.

Friends and family begin asking her for help with their own resumes, and are successful with the resumes she writes for them. Everyone hates writing resumes, so this is an excellent opportunity for a part-time resume writing business.

3. A cat owner notices his cat's natural tendency to enter small, dark spaces. He incorporates the cat carrier into his cat's play time, and soon has his cat is trained to enter the cat carrier almost on command. Anyone who has tried to shove a terrified cat into a cat carrier for a vet trip would gladly pay for this secret.

How Do You Get Started?

Examine your hobby as described earlier. Do people always ask you about it? Do they need help getting started with the same activity? Do your friends tend to invite you over only when there's a problem with their computer or car?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, there might be untapped money hidden in your hobby. All you have to do is think of a way to package and sell your knowledge.

Radio Controlled Esky Helicopters

The radio controlled Esky helicopters run the gamut from the small electric remote controlled helicopters to the larger gas-operated radio controlled helicopters. Also known as E-Sky Helicopters, they produce remote controlled helicopters for everyone from the novice to the expert.

The designs of the E-Sky RC Helicopters often include fully adjustable flybar weights that allow you to adjust the controls for a choice between ease of handling and performance. Keeping the flybar weights in the outer position will actually reduce the performance somewhat in order to make these radio controlled helicopters much easier for the beginner to control. Moving them closer in will increase the performance of the Radio Controlled flight but will make handling much more difficult. It is highly recommended to get used to controlling your RC helicopter before you begin attempting to perform aerobatic stunts or advanced RC flying.

The coaxial rotors are another revolutionary E-Sky Helicopter design feature that makes these RC Helicopters an excellent choice for the novice helicopter pilot. The contra rotating rotors decrease the shear and the torque often associated with Helicopter flight. While the coaxial rotors are not ideally suited for advanced helicopter acrobatics, they do make the Esky coaxial helicopters ideal for beginners and an excellent starting point for anyone who is interested in getting involved with remote controlled flight.
E-Sky helicopters makes RC Aircraft in all sorts of price ranges as well. From the very cheap to the very expensive, you can find it here. However, if you are concerned about wrecking before you ever get started with RC flying; Esky has a full selection of simulators available as well. While the main difficulty in RC Helicopter for most people is, the torque involved during take-off, these Radio Controlled simulators allow you to complete your flight before you ever leave your home.
In all honesty, most people seem to have more difficulties with the Li Po batteries than they do with the Esky Radio Controlled helicopters. The Li Po or Lithium Polymer battery is the latest and greatest in battery technology and allows the Esky RC helicopters to be flown longer. While the batteries are smaller and more powerful, care must be taken in charging and handling or these stand a better chance of destroying your RC Flight fun faster than any accident or mishap with your Esky RC Helicopters.
Whether you are new to the world of Radio Controlled Helicopters or an advanced acrobatic pilot with years of experience, you will probably find something that not only fits your needs, but provides you with endless hours of RC Entertainment as well. With a little adjustment, most of their helicopters can be easily adapted so that you can share the RC Flight experience with everyone in the family together. Esky Radio Controlled Helicopters are a must if you want something that is equally suitable for everyone.Micro Maxi Kick Scooter with T-bar (Blue) ~ kick scooter 3 years old

Stamp Collecting Basics

Stamp collecting is the most popular hobby in the world.Philately is a broader term for the study of stamps, and it is frequently - but wrongly - equated to stamp collecting.

Through stamp collecting, people find information about history, currency, science, politics, arts, architecture and customs of different nations and countries of the world. All stamp collectors have fun with their stamps because no collection is ever complete, and there is always a challenge.

First, decide whether you would like to collect unused (mint) or used (canceled) stamps. If starting a mint stamp collection, purchase unused stamps from the post office. And if you see interesting stamps coming in the mail - collect them.

Many collectors prefer used stamps because they are less expensive or they may cost you nothing.

Some collectors save stamps by "topic": for instance, if you are interested in ships, you may want to collect stamps of ships and boats.Car fans often collect stamps with cars on them. You can disregard the countries and only collect stamps that have pictures that you like. Some people like to collect stamps of one or several countries, but which are all of the same subject. Popular topical themes are birds, cats, butterflies, flowers, sports, space, art, chess, famous people and other.

Specialized collecting means that you can collect all the varieties of a single stamp or collect stamps used for a special purpose.

Country collecting is usually done chronologically by date of issue, sub-divided into reigns or political periods.

Some collectors specialize in collecting only the first stamps, one for each country that has ever issued a postage stamp, or collecting first-day covers, which carry a stamp on the first day it was sold with that day's postmark.

Some areas of collecting cost less than ten cents a stamp, while others can cost thousands of dollars.

A lot of people collect "Cinderellas" - stamps that are not official stamps issued by a country's postal administration.Cinderella collectors include in their collections local postage issues, telegraph stamps, tax stamps, forgeries and counterfeits.

The "hobbies" section of your local library may have basic books about stamp collecting, and the reference department may have a set of stamp-collecting catalogs. To find the value of a specific stamp, visit some good stamp-collecting web sites.

If looking for more information on stamps and stamp collecting, the local post office is the best place to start. Kick Push Scooter Handle Grips, Black ~ kick scooter grips

Learning the Craft of Crocheting - Beginner crochet Pattern

Crocheting is for grannies! That's the mindset of most people when they think of crocheting. However, this is actually extremely incorrect. Not only is it not done by just the elderly, it's done on a lot of things. It's even done on a lot of designer clothes.

Crocheting is not an activity made only for our grannies and for bitter spinsters. It can be done by everyone. Especially, now that clothing trends are now more inclined into the use of crocheted items, popular clothing designers are also smitten by crocheting.

However, crocheting is not only for the plain Jane. One has to have the patience and, of course, the time to be able to do anything crocheted. So how does one actually get herself learn to crochet?

It really is not a hard skill to learn. But it neither is an easy one. In order to get you going, all you need is a good crochet hook, yarns, measuring tape, yarn needle, some pins, and a lot of determination to finish a crocheting project.

Here is a rundown of tips on how to easily learn crocheting:

Hold the Yarn Like a Pro

For newbies in crocheting, holding a yarn could be quite a tricky job. Even if it only takes some time of getting used to, knowing how hold it properly and skillfully is not to be overlooked.

It may not be the easiest thing in the world to master, but it sure is worth it. The magnificent work you can complete with the help of crochet is amazing. If you have a little extra time to pick this up as a hobby, you wont regret it.

Here is how:

1. Let the yarn pass through your fingers upon holding it. This is how it is done: the little finger, then, beneath the ring finger, then, above the forefinger and the middle finger.

2. Another way to hold the yarn is to loop in the region of the little finger, and then, make it cross the forefinger.

3. Upon holding the hook, imagine how you would hold a pencil or a spoon. That's how it should be held. In that position, it won't be hard for you to heave the yarn from your fingers down to the loop in the hook.

As you go along the process of crocheting and you start to get the hang of it, you will learn your unique and most comfortable way of working with the yarn. Don't be afraid to adopt a new method of holding it. It will help you become more of an efficient crochet craftsperson in the long run.

Size Matters When it Comes to the Hook and Yarn

One should not take for granted the skill of identifying the right hook and yarn to use in any crochet project.

Hooks are identified through different letters and numbers that correspond to certain sizes. In crocheting, the higher the number or letter of the hook, the thicker the hook is. As for yarns, their varieties are identified through names.

Resizing the Crochet Project Through the Pattern

To reduce the size of a project, it is as simple as deducting some stitches. One can skip a stitch in a row and continue with the next to reduce the size of the project. To enlarge a project, it is as easy as inserting more stitches in a row. One can easily join two stitches of the same row together. This will make one produce a solo stitch on the next row prior to it.

Reading a Pattern Like a Book

What can complicate the activities of one that is engaged in crocheting are the abbreviations on a pattern. The use of memory and logic can help a lot in surmounting this little crocheting obstacle. The outcome of being able to memorize these important abbreviations is a much faster pace in crocheting and more efficient hands.

1. Crochet patterns and instructions are worked usually in rounds or rows. It will be indicated on the pattern if you are doing or working in rounds, rows or mixture of both.

2. Crochet patterns and instructions are generally ranked according to difficulty level such as advanced, intermediate, easy or beginner. Choose a pattern with a difficulty level that suits your abilities. Then, increase the level of difficulty as your skill advances.
3. Count the stitches that you have made as you go on with your work to monitor the stitches needed on each round or row as required by the pattern.

4. Verify your gauge by crocheting a sample of about 4 X 4 inches in the pattern. When your gauge results into a larger size than what is on the pattern, then use a smaller hook; when your gauge is smaller, then use a larger hook.

When it's time for you to actually accomplish a crochet project, make sure that you follow the instructions well and you make your patience a bit sturdier than before. Prepare your devices beforehand to ensure the smooth flow of your crocheting endeavor.

Now you know the steps of crocheting. You may not be a master at it right now, but at least you will know the basics. You can now start working at making magnificent work with this little hobby. Now, get to crocheting! Faithbooking Preserving your faith through your scrapbooks

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done. Psalm 78:4

When you get down to it, the reason we scrapbook is to tell a story. The story of our lives, the milestones weve reached, the journeys weve gone on, the trials weve endured and the joys weve shared. That is what is found in each scrapbook page.

But if you are a person of faith, do you include how you prayed through the trials, leaned on your church family through your journeys and praised God for answering prayers? So often we forget to give credit to the Lord in our layouts for obvious demonstrations of His love for us!

Faithbooking is much more than just adding Bible verses to your pages. It is more like a prayer journal with photos, a way to preserve your faith through the art of scrapbooking! Since most prayer journals are private and highly personal in nature, you can use faithbooking or praisebooking, as other have called it, as a tangible way to share your faith with those you love!

Just think of the amazing treasure your children will have once youre gone. Generations to come will see how your faith affected your life. So many of us have heard the legacies of our ancestors faith, but have little to show for it except stories passed down through the family. Faithbooking can not only serve as a family treasure, but a creative way to follow Psalm 78:4 and tell other generations of Gods wonders in our lives.

Many people prefer their faithbooking to be quite simple, with just some photos and journaling, but just as God works in many ways, I believe we all have our own personal faithbooking style. If you keep your focus on Gods hand in your life and not on making a page worthy for the cover of your favorite scrapbook magazine, I think your pages will show your faith in a way that is yours alone!

There are a growing number of companies that are making products just for Christians. I've found everything from papers, stickers, charms and eyelets with a Christian theme. While these are necessary to faithbooking, they do make nice additions to your pages and can help bring your pages together nicely.

Remember, faithbooking is all about God working in your life! There is no wrong way to do it if you keep your focus on Him!

7 Tips For Buying An Outdoor Fireplace

Before buying an outdoor fireplace, there are several factors to take into account. Always remember that the safety of your family and property is the most important consideration.

1. Size matters

When comparing fireplaces, look at the size of the fire area before the height. If the firebox is small, wood buying and cutting is more difficult.

Requesting for specially cut wood from your supplier increases your cost.

The Basics Of Candle Making

Before electricity was discovered and before light bulbs were invented, candles were the main source of illumination inside a building. This makes candle making a very necessary art. But even though electric light bulbs are now the main source of light everywhere, candles remain popular because they add to indoor surroundings a touch of coziness and romance in the atmosphere.

Learning candle making as a hobby has its own appeal and popularity primarily because there is nothing more satisfactory than being able to create something useful with one’s own hands. Candle making can also be a good source of secondary income if one becomes a master of it.

There are many types of candles that you can learn to make with candle making. The most popular type of candles are called tapers or dinner candles, the long and slender candles that are supposed to be held in place by candlesticks.

The pillar candle is another popular type of candle. It is a candle that can stand on its own, with a base that measures three inches or so in diameter. Pillar candles are also called column candles and they come in various shapes.

A jar candle is a candle that is made when the wax is poured into a glass container that is designed to resist the heat of the candle it contains as it burns. Jar candles are also referred to as filled candles.

A votive candle is traditionally used for religious ceremonies. They are small, cylindrical candles placed in a cup called a votive holder. Tealight candles, on the other hand, are small and short candles poured into metal holders.

Specialty candles are sculpted candles that are meant to be displayed rather than burned. They are also called novelty candles.

If you are interested in candle making, what materials should you invest in? Contrary to what you may think, the art of candle making does not require a lot of investment. Most of the time, the necessary materials such as the boilers and the molds can be easily substituted for materials readily available in your own kitchen or garage.

For candle making, you would need the following materials:

* The paraffin wax, which is the basic ingredient for candle making, as well as the wick. If you want to experiment with colors and scents, you can also get dyes and fragrance oils or essential oils.
* A double boiler for heating your wax. A double boiler is a pan inside a pan. The outer pan is for heating water while the inner pan serves to hold the wax being melted. Also, a stove for heating your wax.
* A thermometer for gauging the temperature of your wax. You would need to use a thermometer that is specially designed for candle making because the ordinary household thermometers do not have as high a range.
* A scale, a ladle and a measuring cup. A scale will help you measure the amount of wax you would need to heat for your candles while the ladle is for getting the wax out of its boiler. The measuring cup is for pouring wax into molds – it is safer and easier to do than simply pouring the contents of the boiler into the mold.
* Candle molds and mold seal. The candle molds are for shaping your candles and they come in different shapes, sizes and materials. The cheapest candle molds are made of plastic, but they are not that durable and they cannot withstand too much heat. The best candle molds are those made of metal. The mold seal, on the other hand, prevents the wax from pouring out of the mold.
* A blow torch or heat gun is for melting away imperfections on the surface of your finished candles.

The basic candle that is usually made by one who is just learning candle making is the pillar candle. Below is a step-by-step guide in making one:

1. Measure out the amount of wax that you would need by filling the mold you would be using with water. For every 3 ½ ounces of water, three ounces of wax are necessary.
2. Put your wax into the inner pan of your double boiler, fill the outer pan with water, and then put them to heat. Lower the heat once the water starts boiling.
3. Check the temperature of your wax with your thermometer. Different candles vary in their required temperature, but for pillar candles, the desired temperature is 180°F. Do not let the thermometer touch the bottom of the pan.
4. Prime your wick by dipping it into the wax. When the wick has started to release bubbles, take it out of the wax using thongs or old knitting needles, and then flatten out and leave it to dry. Once dry, slip it inside the mold and hold it in place with a wick support.
5. When the wax reaches the desired temperature, it is time to add whatever additives that you want, such as fragrances and dyes. Be careful when putting these additives in and stir them gently into the wax.
6. Pour your wax into the mold and tap the sides of the mold gently to release the air bubbles. Also, poke small holes near the wick to let out the air pockets that can make your candle a fire hazard. Afterwards, let the wax in the mold set for a few hours to let it cool. When the wax is cooled, you would have made your first candle.

Always remember that safety is paramount in candle making. Be cautious about the materials you are handling and always keep the area where you make your candles clean.Voyage Kick Scooter for Toddler Green X4A ~ kick scooter for toddler

Leather Jacket Care

If you own a fine leather jacket then you've probably drawn a few looks here and there because of the style. Unfortunately over time, even a great leather jacket can turn ugly on you if it isn't properly maintained.

Prevention is Your Best Option

When you first bring your leather jacket home, you want to condition and waterproof it. After that, proper care will keep it looking fabulous for years. In fact, did you know that with proper care, leather out wears denim 20 to 1? I've heard stories where a good quality, well maintained leather jacket can last as long as 50 years!

Find out everything you can about your leather jacket, get the right stuff and set aside time for mandatory cleaning. If you don't do it yourself, then pay a pro to clean your leather jacket for you. You can thank me later for that tip!

Leather Jacket Repair

How can you repair the sleeves on your leather jacket when the edges are cracking, without making the leather weak or super soft?

If you have any loose edges, you can actually tack them up with a small dab of rubber cement which is sold at most grocery or retail stores. If the edges are not torn but just starting to look rough, one of the best options is for you to use a combination of mink oil and beeswax.

Typically this concoction is sold as paste, making it easy to apply. While it helps to improve those rough spots, it does soften but not too much. This combination will also help preserve the leather and prevent stains.

Leather Jacket Maintainence and Restoration

One of the top products you can buy for your leather jacket is called Lexol. This brand is excellent for restoring worn leather, bringing it back to its natural state. Another professional cleaner/conditioner is called Fiebing's All Purpose Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. It too helps restore leather that is worn while also helping to prevent water spots, stains, and even cracking.

Another great product that does it all, conditions, waterproofs, preserves, softens, and restores leather is called Snow-Proof. This product has no color or odor and is excellent on leather jackets as well as boots and shoes. Best of all, it will not leave a greasy feel.

Carnauba Cream will also help to restore and smooth out your leather jacket. It helps to resist scratches and finger prints and does a great job of restoration. One other product you should investigate is called Leather Balm with Atom Wax. This particular product was formulated specifically for leather to help with preserving and restoring. It also helps produce a nice soft, natural finish.

I suggest doing some research on these products before settling on one. Type the product name into a search engine and read up on their different properties. Prices and results will vary depending on the application. A Suet Way To Attract Birds To Your Yard

No, I didnt misspell the word sweet. Suet is a particular food that birds just cant resist, to wit, a great way to attract them to your bird house.

A Suet Way To Attract Birds To Your Yard

Make no mistake about it, Suet is some nasty stuff. It is the thick, white fat from a side of beef. It is slick and hardly appetizing food stuff. That is, unless you are a bird. For some unknown reason, Suet is the chocolate of the bird habitat. If you want to attract birds to the bird house you have set up in the backyard, this is the stuff guaranteed to do it.

You can buy Suet at your local grocery store. Many offer it in a combination with bird seeds of a sort, but grocery store bird seed is not the best. All and all, you are probably better off just buying it without the helpful additives.

Once you have the Suet, you need to consider how exactly to use it. There are a couple of problems. First, it is fat. Fat does not do well in the sun, at least not over a few days. It spoils, turning goopy and starts putting off a nasty fragrance. As a result, you should probably stick to small amounts of Suet as bait and some will remove it in the evening. Another option is to actually melt the fat and mix it with whatever else you have been using as bait. Cracked corn, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and milo are a few typical choices.

Anyway you cut it, Suet is some nasty stuff. It is, however, a great way to get the attention of a wide variety of birds in your area.

How To Choose A Fishing Rod And How To Make It Last

No sportsman wins by sheer talent alone. No matter how talented a sportsman is, if his equipment is not good enough, his chances of winning will remain slim. That is because his equipment will hinder rather than help his game. A runner needs good shoes to run. A bowler needs a bowling ball that weighs and fits right in his hand. The same goes with a fisherman and his fishing rod.

Fishing is a sport that many people find enjoyable. It is always a challenge to get the elusive fish to bite the bait, and sitting still for hours on the end just to be able to catch fish can be very relaxing. But regardless of the challenge and the relaxation that fishing offers, the goal of fishing is still to catch some fish. Barring bad luck and circumstances that are really unfavorable for fishing, a good fishing rod is necessary for a good catch.

If you are a beginner at fishing, it is perfectly all right to use a simple fishing rod and reel – nothing spiffy and nothing fancy. When you are just starting out with fishing, you only need to have a feel for the sport. You only need to learn your way around the different baits used for fishing, and you need to learn to recognize conditions and circumstances that are favorable for fishing. If the circumstances are unfavorable, you would need to learn how to turn them in your favor.

A simple fishing rod is good for beginners. But once you have earned a few experience points with the art of angling, you would want a good fishing rod that is designed for advanced users, a fishing rod that will really get your game going. In this case, how do you choose a fishing rod that is just right for your needs?

In order for you to make this decision, you need to know first just what kind of fishing you will be specializing in. Deep sea fishing is tough, so if you are thinking of going more into deep sea fishing, you will need a really tough fishing rod. The fishing rod you would be using if you will be fishing in shallow waters does not have to be as strong as those used in deep sea fishing.

And then, you need to decide what kind of fish you would be going for. Some fish are bigger than the others. The bigger the fish is, the longer the fishing rod that you would need to make use of when fishing. If you are content with catching small kinds of fish, your fishing rod does not need to be more than around four or six inches. Going for the bigger game, on the other hand, would require fishing rods bigger than six inches.

Flexibility is also a necessary trait when choosing a fishing rod. It is important that your fishing rod is flexible, something that can withstand heavyweight fish and something that will not snap at your face when you cast it or fight against a struggling fish. When shopping for a fishing rod, do not hesitate to hold it in your hand and make a few test casts to see how it performs under your control.

Once you have found the fishing rod that you think is right for you, go ahead and buy it and do not spare yourself the expense. A good fishing rod is an investment, and if you chose well, it can last you for many, many years if you maintain it properly.

Not sure yet just what kind of fishing rod you should buy? Then go ahead and buy a few secondhand fishing rods. Once you have found the right fishing rod to invest in, you can always sell your secondhand fishing rods or give them away. Do not spend a fortune on fishing rods that you know by gut feeling will not work well with you.

Now, a good fishing rod is a good investment that will give you years and years of angling enjoyment. But that will only happen if you maintain your fishing rod properly. Maintaining your fishing rod is simple – it only requires regular cleaning and oiling.

To clean your fishing rod, you start with removing the reel from the rod and washing the reel with warm water and drying it thoroughly. After that, get a screw driver and unscrew the reel plate and handle so you could get a look at the inside of the reel.

Once you have the reel’s inside exposed, carefully remove all the dirt and debris you find inside the reel with a few Q-tips. Be absolutely certain that you have removed every bit of dirt out. And then, once the reel is clean, lubricate the gears inside the reel and replace the reel plate and the handle.

Fishing is an enjoyable sport, but to get the most enjoyment out of it, you would need to use a fishing rod that will work well with you. When you have already invested on a fishing rod, protect your investment by maintaining it regularly and properly.Adult Foldable Kick Scooter, 2-Wheel 3 Levels Adjustable Height Kick Scooter with Hand Brake (white) ~ kick scooter backpack

How To Assess The Value Of Your Sports Trading Cards

Chances are, if you've been collecting sport trading cards for some time, one of the mind boggling questions that probably bugging you is this : how do you determine the value of your card collection? In other words, how much can you fetch for the stacks of baseball, football or wrestling trading cards lying in your cabinet?

Although most sports card collectors are usually fans of the game as well, some are actually into the card collecting hobby for the potential profit they may reap from the trading. Therefore, it certainly doesn't hurt to know the methods that you can use to assess this, even if you've no intention to sell off your collection now.

Here are 3 simple and effective ways commonly used :

(1) Ebay Auctions

A relatively fast way to know how much people are willing to pay for your particular card is to do a search on Ebay auctions. While doing so, it's vital to go by what buyers are offering instead of the price sellers are asking for.

Even though both demand and supply has the same important part to play, looking at the buyers' market is the fairer way to determine the current "market value". The number of bids, depending on the base price set by the seller can also help you determine if the card you're holding is "hot" or not. That in turn can help you plan your own baseline selling price next time.

(2) Monthly Magazines & Price Guides

If you're more interested to know the "book value" for your cards, depending on the amount of money you want to spend and the depth of the details you want to know, there are avenues for you to check that as well.

For a start, you can check this via the monthly trading card magazines. Such periodicals tabulate current book values of the most popular range of single cards and sets and can bought off newstands at about $4-5 per copy. 2 of the main magazines are Beckett and Tough Stuff.

Suppose you've got a bigger budget, go for the $10 paperback or the $40-50 price guide. Both give you value estimates based on the production year of the sets from different different card companies with the latter covering on almost every set that are issued for all major sports.

But regardless of which option you choose, do bear in mind that such value estimates are highly subjected to the condition and maintenance of the cards concerned. So, in case you don't get the price that's stated on the periodicals, don't go back to your newstand vendor or book store and start asking for a refund!

(3) Trading Card Clubs & Forums

Last but not least, just go asking around. By doing a search on Google, you'll be able to get a listing of all online card traders clubs and forums you can join and learn about such knowledge. Members are often able to give you quotes on the spot and who knows? You might even get a good offer for your card. Besides, it's also gratifying to know a bunch of people who share the same interest as you, isn't it?Ancheer S300 Mini Electric Scooter/E-bike with ABS, Retractable Seat and Removable Basket for Adult Teens and Kids Age 13 Up (Blue) ~ kick scooter basket

6 Simple Steps to Becoming A HOT Guitar Player

Learning how to play guitar well is not easy. There are so
many methods and so many conflicting opinions, it makes
it difficult to know what to do.

But the simple fact is, if you want to be the best you can,
as soon as you can, then all you need to do is - copy what
the pro's do...

Master the Basics!

Mastering the basics means being able to play in all keys.
Being able to transpose any song to any other key - on
the spot preferably.

Did you know that 95% of guitarists DON'T master the
basics. Oh yes, they mean to get around to it, but they
hardly ever do.

Why is that? Well, it's because they think it's boring,
complicated and too much hard work. And most of all - no
fun! And mostly they were right. Well, it needn't be that
way. Mastering the basics can be a lot of fun if you go
about it in a methodical set-by-step way.

What does mastering the basics entail?

There are 6 basic steps you need to follow:

1. Learn the names of all notes on all strings, one string at
a time.

2. Learn how to construct a C Major scale.

Basic must-know guitar theory. Easy stuff.

3. Learn how the chords of the major scale are made and
what they are... their names etc. C Dm Em F G Am Bdim.

Basic chord construction knowledge.

4. Learn the triad patterns for the C major scale all over
the fret board.

Triads are simple 3-note chords. Easy and fun to learn and
play.

5. Learn to play those triads with common chord
progressions.

Learn to play and apply the triads to the most common
chord progressions that fit thousands and thousands of
songs.

6. Learn to do step 5 in all keys.

Once you can do steps one to five in the key of C, it's real
easy to learn it for the other 11 major keys.

Hint: It's much easier than you think. All the patterns are
exactly the same as what you learn for C major. You don't
have to learn any new patterns. Cookie cutter stuff.

It really is not hard at all. All you need is a methodical
step-by-step method that makes sense and is easy and
fun to use.MIAWHEELS Black/Green Adjustable & Foldable + SUSPENSION+ STRAP+REFLECTIVE+ Long REAR BRAKE, Aluminium Kick Scooter ~ kick scooter 300 lbs

Choosing a Car Stereo

Choosing a car stereo can be a complicated and difficult task, especially for individuals with little knowledge on the subject. This process requires extensive research in order to determine you are receiving the best deal possible. Before going to a car stereo dealer, you may want to review and understand all the components of a car stereo. This way, you can personally choose which components you would like for your car. The following is a list of the basic components of a car stereo:

1. Decks - Car stereos cannot function without a deck. A deck constitutes any piece of equipment ranging from cassette decks and CD players to MP3s and mini discs. The deck is considered the glue that holds the car stereo together. The deck controls the overall output of the sound and allows you to control the music being played. All car stereo decks have a minimum 4-channel output for your speakers. If you want more power than what your speakers alone can hold, you may want to consider purchasing an amplifier.

2. Amplifiers Amplifiers provide the power needed to blast the music in your car. The more powerful your amplifier is, the louder the sound system is going to be. An amplifier can have anywhere from 1 to 7 channels. The number of channels in your amplifier is the number of speakers you can hookup in a series circuit.

3. Speakers Speakers are where the sound from the stereo is emitted. Different types of speakers are designed to produce different frequencies. Higher frequencies provide the capacity for more sound and produce a higher level sound as well. The efficiency of the speakers is what will determine how far the sound will travel. If you want the sound to travel far, you will need speakers with a higher frequency.

4. Subwoofers Every high-tech car stereo system should have a subwoofer. Subwoofers complete the sound by providing high efficiency of low frequencies, through the bass. In other words, the subwoofer is the piece of equipment which makes the car vibrate. A subwoofer needs to be enclosed in either a box or possibly the trunk of your vehicle. Keep this is mind when budgeting the cost of your stereo system.

Now that you know the basics of how everything operates, you can ask informed questions as to which components you should have in your car.

Make The Most Out Of Your Rose Garden By Cutting The Roses

Tending a rose garden is definitely a labor of love, but it is certainly worth the work because the rose is a kind of flower that eagerly returns the love that is given it.

A great thing about having your very own rose garden is that you can enjoy it any time you want, especially when it is the season for blooming roses. Some owners of rose garden hate the idea of having to cut away the blooms unless it is part of the pruning process.

However, this objection does not make sense to other rose gardeners. True enough, you do not have to sit in your rose garden all day just to be able to enjoy it. The best way to take advantage of having a beautiful rose garden is to cut the flowers and use the cut roses to decorate the home. In this way, you are bringing the beauty of the garden right in the heart of your domicile.

Bringing the Rose Garden Inside the Home

Roses, especially the hybrid tea variety, are meant to be cut. They are meant to be cut, put into a vase and be admired for their beauty no matter where they are placed inside the house. Cut roses in a vase add a touch of elegance in a room, no matter how drab the room may look. An arrangement of cut roses in a vase makes a lovely centerpiece on the dining table. Three cut roses in a slender vase placed on a desk or a side table where you can easily look at it can serve as a reminder that you are loved. Waking up to the sight of cut roses in a vase on your bedside table can cheer you up for the rest of your day.

And these are just about the visual beauty of the roses. Their smell is another thing altogether. The scent of rose blooms can be heady to the senses. For some people, it is a very relaxing scent. For many others, the scent of cut roses has the opposite effect – energizing, seductive and romantic.

Cutting the Roses

If you have a rose garden and you want to enjoy the beauty of your garden even while you are indoors, there is nothing to stop you from cutting your roses and making flower arrangements out of them. You have to remember, though, that you do not just cut a rose right from the plant. There is a proper way of doing it.

Roses are best cut late in the afternoon, perhaps after 3:00 PM. Cutting roses at this time of the day will ensure that the flower itself has enough food reserves stored away, which will make it last for as long as it is possible.

Another thing you need to bear in mind when cutting roses is to cut only rosebuds that are just starting to open. These just-blooming cut roses will have a longer vase life. Also, there is always something magical about watching a rose bloom right before your eyes.

Make sure that the pruners you use to cut your roses are sharp, clean and free from rust. Using dirty or rusty pruners is a sure-fire way of making your roses sick and of spreading disease among the plants.

Setting the Cut Roses

Once you have your collection of cut roses, put them to water immediately after cutting. The best way to do this is to lug along a small bucket full of water to dip your cut roses in right after you snip them off from the plant. Again, this extends the vase life of your cut roses and prevents them from the “shock” of being disconnected from their food and water supply even for just a few minutes.

When you are arranging your cut roses in your vase, make sure that the vase you are putting these roses in does not have a design that will compete with the beauty of your roses. A vase with a subdued design will enhance the loveliness of the cut roses.

Never cut away all the leaves from the stem of your cut roses. Leave three or four of these leaves above the water line on the stem. In this way, your cut roses will continue to be fed by these leaves, thus elongating their vase life.

Another method you can use to extend the vase life of your cut roses is to put them in water that has been mixed with a floral preservative. If you do not have a floral preservative at home, just mix the water with some lemon juice and a teaspoon or so of sugar.

Maintaining Cut Roses

No one likes to see wilting roses. If the cut roses are wilting way ahead of its time, it means that the stems are clogged and could not bring enough nutrients to the flower head. To liven up your cut roses again, you should snip at the ends of their stems and soak them in a container filled with warm water. Let them stay in that warm water for about an hour.

Make it a point to replace the water-and-lemon solution you have in the vase of your cut roses as soon as they become dirty. Most of all, to extend the life of your cut roses further, keep them away from direct sunlight.Razor A2 Kick Scooter (Clear/Black) ~ kick scooter bars

Coins Paper Money Or Stamps

What should you collect as a hobby; coins, paper money, or stamps?

Which is the best investment?

Its strange that some people who collect coins, paper money, or stamps, always want some kind of return on their investment. These are the same people who think nothing of buying a new car and then selling it a few years later for a fraction of what they paid for it. A new car loses value as soon as you drive it on the road!

As for investing in paper money, if someone is buying notes and thinking how much will they be able to get when they sell them again, this person has the wrong hobby. Enjoy collecting for the pleasure and for the fun of it.

Coins and stamps are tangible reminders of years gone by. Yet, while coin collecting is flourishing as a hobby, stamp collecting is decreasing in popularity. Many families who inherit stamp collections are more interested in getting the collection appraised than continuing the collection. You cant collect something if you dont know what it is.

Stamp collecting dates back to 1840, when the first stamp was issued in England. One of the earliest indications of stamp collecting is an advertisement from an English newspaper in which a young woman wanted used stamps to wallpaper her room. Soon, post offices discovered stamp collectors as a good source of revenue. From there, stamp collecting took off.

There are no rules about stamp collecting. Some people collect stamps from a certain country while others focus on a particular theme, such as flowers, or ships, or buildings.

Unfortunately, stamp collecting has simply lost its appeal to younger people.

Coin collecting, on the other hand, is at its peak in popularity. Rare or modern coins offer history that collectors can hold in their hand, and every period from the past 2,500 years is reflected in coinage.

Stamps disappear and become part of the ground. A coin can be dug up and, while new varieties of stamps are not really being discovered, new types of coins from all over the world are still being found. How many stamps or bank notes do you think youll find while out exploring with a metal detector?

Whilst improperly stored coins can degrade and lessen in value, paper money can be damaged by handling, sunlight, or water. All are subject to flood, fire, or other natural catastrophes.

A stock certificate with half of it burned away is just as good as a mint one in terms of its value on the exchange. In fact, as long as ownership can be proven, it often doesn't even matter if the physical certificate exists. The same cant be said for paper money.

You can insure against these problems, and go to great lengths to maintain proper storage conditions, but all of this costs money and adds to the cost of the investment, often for many years before there is any return at all.

Today, coin collecting is one of the worlds most popular hobbies. Amateur collectors enjoy coins for their beauty and rarity. Added to this is the excitement of searching for and finding specific coins and the challenge of identifying new ones.

Why is coin collecting thriving and stamp collecting dying? Coins are still being used and are still fascinating. It is an investment as well as a hobby. Coins continue to go up in value while many stamps are at the peak value they will ever receive. Furthermore, many are going down in value.

Enjoy your hobby, and consider whatever you invest in it to be pleasure money, the same way you would count money you spent going to ball games, or dining out, or buying new clothes. Then, whatever you or your family get out of your collection is pure profit, whether it is more or less than what you originally paid.

After all, if you spend $20 a week going to the movies, you don't expect to get anything back for your $1,000 a year collection of ticket stubs, do you?

I believe there is room in both the collecting of coins and paper money for both collectors and investors.

The important thing to remember in investing in coins or banknotes is rarity and desirability.

Making Custom Badges

ID Badges are used anywhere these days. They are used in the hospital as medical cards that provide discounts and benefits. ID badges are a standard operating procedure in schools, companies and libraries. ID badges help to ensure security and maintain organization. Of course, these badges are also used for personal use. You could use them as souvenir for a birthday celebration, you could make use of badges for small, private groups and clubs, for a small production like the school play, or just for fun.

1. Materials

There are many available kinds of paper to choose from in making your custom badges. The shape of the ID would depend on your preference if it would be vertical or horizontal. The materials of the badge would depend on the design and how authentic you want the badge to look, if you are attempting to replicate a specific look.

- Laminated badge
- Dimension is 2 1/8 x 3

- Sticker badge
- Can be purchased on bookstores
- Premium quality specialty paper
- satin cloth
- and card board

- Transparent plastic cards

2. Design

The design of your custom badges would depend on what the badge is for. If it the badge is going to be used in a formal occasion or organization, present the design with a sophisticated style. The color is your choice.

Ask yourself or the members of your organization what information is to be placed on the custom badges. The position of the information is also important because this would serve as identification of the person bearing it. The choices of the card could contain an organization or company logo and name, student or employee number, signature of the bearer for verification purposes, contact numbers, expiry date of the card, and control numbers. It is up to you where you would place the information. Make sure that you provide a space for the picture and signature if you require this information.

3. Scanning

It is important for you to obtain all the data you need in completing your custom badge for you to scan it into your computer. All the images should be formatted in jpg for best pixel imagery. The standard size of picture on the identification badge is 1x1 or nothing smaller than a mail stamp.

If you plan the custom badges to contain the signatures of the bearer, make sure to collect them on a piece of paper at least standard letter size. After obtaining the signatures, scan it into your computer and save it as a file type that retains the detail of the signature, such as a .jpg or better.

4. Preparation

Open software that allows you to edit your images (eg. Adobe Photoshop). You could adjust the shade of the picture if it does not match your design.

- Set up the dimensions of the canvas to those desired
- Unlock the background layer and fill it with white or your desired background image
- Cut the picture from the file and paste it in a new layer above the background
- Resize as necessary, and position where desired
- Create text areas for all of the text required, using a desired font
- Print on high quality paper

5. Laminating

After printing the card, make sure to dry it for 20 minutes. If it the ink has dried, it is now safe to laminate it with a plastic cover. Make sure to measure the card and the cover before starting lamination. The lamination will require at least an inch of space.

Coin Collecting Throughout The Ages

Coin collecting, or numismatics is a hobby as old as time. As a hobby, it has been around for more than 2,500 years. This is surprising since the use of coins has been around for pretty much that same amount of time too. Man has always had a fixation for small, round, shiny things. And throughout the ages, coin collectors have always been on the prowl for the oldest, rarest, most attractive coins around.

Numismatics comes from the Greek word nomisma, meaning currency, or coin. It is also related to the study of banknotes, tokens, and other early forms of money.

Coins and other forms of money are issued by governments and other monetary agencies. Billions of these flood the market yearly. But as time goes by, the number of these coins go down. Some get lost and some are damaged beyond recognition.

This goes to show that the older the coin, the rarer it must be. And for coin collectors, this is prime stuff.

Coin collectors and hobbyists number millions around the world. This hobby is taken so seriously that there are even professional dealers and investors who ply their trade in this fashion.

The lure of coins lies in its power to draw people into the era it belonged to. These coins show many aspects of everyday life during those times. By examining a coin, one comes to know the geography, philosophy, sociology, artistry and other aspects of the culture they existed in.

Ancient kings (and even todays leaders) had a telling habit of having their faces imprinted on their currency. Some historians have been able to put together clues regarding the ancient civilizations using these coins. Sometimes, coins would tell of a leader or prominent figure that would have been forgotten by time if it were not for these coins.

Hobbyists usually start collecting coins from their own locality. This makes sense because they are the easiest to collect. These hobbyists then expand their collection to coins from increasingly farther and earlier origins.

Coin collectors regard every single coin as a unique specimen. They take note of the date, the mint marks, and even the abnormalities in its design. Ironically, some of the most expensive coins are those with the strangest abnormalities. This is because this type of coin is hard to come by.

For example, there could be a coin in existence that differs from other coins in its batch. For some unknown reason, it lacks some of the required markings. Such coins are deemed more valuable than the normal coins of its type.

A good number of coin collectors collect coins according to themes. The coins they collect all have a common topic. Some collect coins related to kings and queens. Some collect those related to plants and animals.

The price for a coin is determined by the demand for this coin. Many factors affect this demand. If a coin is rare, chances are, it is in great demand. However, there are some coins that are rare, or exotic, yet the demand for them remains low. If this is the case, then its market value will remain in the low end.

Before purchasing coins, one must do much research about that coin. He must assess its current market value and make sure that the coin is genuine. He should also consider how much he could earn if he resells the coin.

The American Numismatic Association is the largest numismatic organization in the world. It was founded in 1891 and was chartered by the Congress of the United States 21 years later. This group has the largest library of coins available. Collectors would love to visit their headquarters, the World Money Museum, which is one of the largest coin museums in the world.

Another organization, the American Numismatic Society, is the most active and respected nonprofit numismatic publisher in the world. They maintain a museum that contains more than a million objects. They also have a library that has one of the most comprehensive in coin collecting knowledge.

Whether you are a hobbyist or a serious collector, coin collecting will always bring a sense of fulfillment and history to your life. It is never too late to start collecting today. You cant lose! Your collection can only grow in value as the time passes by!

Baby Sleep Tips - The Ferber Method

One of the most important things in getting you baby to sleep properly is for your baby to learn to sleep on his or her own. The reason it is so difficult for many parents - why parents of a newborn suffer from so many sleepless nights - is because your baby, at first, isn't used to sleeping on his own, and when he wakes up in the night he cries for his mother: being in the presence of his mother is only way he knows how to get to sleep. It is natural that this transition from sleeping with the mother, to sleeping on his own, will take some time for your baby. Many baby sleep tips involve setting up a strict nighttime routine, and introducing objects - such as stuffed animals - into the bed that your baby can associate with sleep. If you find after some months that your baby is still not able to sleep on his own, you can try what is known as the Ferber method.

Invented by Dr. Richard Ferber, the Ferber method is the most common way of weaning your child away from the mother, in terms of his sleep habits. It is usually successful within a couple of weeks. Nevertheless, it is important that you choose a week where you can afford to lose some sleep to begin the Ferber method. Especially at the beginning of the process, the Ferber method does require that you spend a lot of time listening to your baby crying, and if you attempt it at a time when you are desperate to sleep, you run the risk of breaking down and allowing your child to sleep with you, or sleeping in the room with him. If you do so you risk undoing a lot of work that you will have put into the method.

The first night you attempt the Ferber method, put your child to bed as you normally do. Your baby should be tired but still awake when you put him to bed, so that he is left to fall asleep on his own. After you leave the room, the baby will inevitably start crying. Allow him to cry for about 5 minutes, then re-enter the room to console him. It's important that you stay in the room for only a short time - even if he is still crying - and that you don't pick him up or rock him. This second time you leave the room, wait 10 minutes before returning in the same manner. The third time wait 15 minutes, and set this as a maximum wait time for the rest of the night.

Every time thereafter, enter the room briefly and then allow your child to cry for 15 minutes. Eventually, he will fall asleep on his own during one of the 15 minute intervals in which you are out of the room. The second night, you should begin with a 10 minute wait before re-entering the room, followed by 15 and then 20 minutes. In a similar fashion, increase your initial and subsequent wait times by 5 minutes each night.

Using this method your child will soon learn to go to sleep on his own. Although it can be difficult to listen to your baby cry, understand that the Ferber method is a safe and effective way of getting your baby to learn to sleep on his own. How to Read an Online Casino Review

There are quite an overwhelming number of online casino review sites out there. Each online casino reviewer gives you his or her assessment of the torrent of online casinos courting your participation. In this article, we will use our own online casino review template as an example to detail what you'll want to look for when trying to find the right online casino for you.

Bonuses/Promotions
In this section of the online casino review you'll discover what the signup bonus is at that site -- typically matching a certain percent of your first deposit -- as well as any other bonuses available at the online casino. Re-deposit bonuses are also popular, whereby the online casino matches a percentage of select future deposits (say, once a month, your first deposit of that month).

Bonuses may be game-specific or day-specific. They may offer cash prizes or free game tokens.

A particularly appealing type of bonus is the Progressive Jackpot, which starts out at a particular level (say, $500), but as each day passes without anyone qualifying to win the jackpot, an additional amount (say, $50) is then added to it. The pot grows this way until someone wins the whole kit-and-kaboodle, after which the jackpot is then reset to its starting level.

Similar to bonuses, promotions are time-based, special events, ordinarily with prizes that are larger and more enticing than usual, sometimes including vacations and automobiles and such.

Software/Graphics
Upon reading a few online casino reviews, you'll quickly notice that there are only a handful of online casino software programs that most online casinos use, namely: Microgaming, Cryptologic, RealTime Gaming, and PlayTech. You will, however, also find the occasional online casino with its own proprietary software.

Each software brand has its own strengths and weaknesses, many of which are quite subjective. You may therefore wish to find an online casino reviewer whose opinions on casinos (or software platforms) that you're already familiar with, you seem to share. That way, you can trust his or her opinion when they praise or condemn a particular online casino software for its:

- Speed and smoothness of game play
- Reliability of the software
- Usability of the interface
- Table view options (Bird's Eye or 3D Player-Centered)
- Selection of automated features (auto-post blinds, preselect bid/fold buttons)

This is also the section of the online casino review where you'll find information on how players are represented in the game (text, icons, flags, avatars), and the quality of the graphics and sound (including background sounds and sound effects).

Games
In this part of the online casino review, you'll find out exactly what games (and how many varieties of each) you can play at each online casino. Games may include Craps, Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, Keno, Video Poker, Slots, and others.

Payouts/Cashouts/Security
Here in the online casino review is where you'll learn about the promptness, reliability, and security of payouts. You'll find out about third party audits that the online casino receives (and whether they publicly post the results or not) of their payout percentages and/or the random number generators their games use. You'll learn of affiliations the online casino may have with organizations that require online casinos meet certain ethical standards and comply with certain codes.

Customer Support
Lastly, this is the section of the online casino review that describes the ways available to you for contacting customer support (toll-free phone, email, live chat), the hours (preferably 24/7), and most importantly, the quality (ie. how courteous and responsive).Mayhem Phantom Pro-Kick Scooter (Oil Slick) ~ kick scooter gloves

Introduction To Watercolor Painting Techniques

This article will provide you with a general understanding of some of the more basic watercolor painting techniques.

Flat Wash Technique - The flat wash technique is one of the more basic and common of the various techniques. The flat wash technique is usually used when large areas of the canvas need to be covered. You will want to lay out the watercolor wash evenly and uniformly. First you will need to dampen the area of your canvas where you will be applying the watercolor wash. Make certain to have an adequate amount of water and pigment available before your start. If you should have to stop for any reason, it will be difficult to match your layers.. It is better to have more than less available. The angle at which you apply the watercolor wash is important. If the angle is too steep your wash will run down the paper. If the angle is too level, then you won't have enough movement. Use a large brush for this technique and start your first stroke at the top of the paper. Continue applying the watercolor wash going down the paper, but alternate sides as you move down.

Glazing Technique - The glazing technique is when you apply a thin transparent color over a completed dry layer of color. This technique creates some very interesting blends of new color. You will need to use a non-staining, transparent color for this watercolor technique. You should use a soft brush and don't apply that much pressure.

Wet In Wet Technique - Wet in wet is simply applying a wet wash over a wet surface. You start by evenly wetting the paper with a brush or spray bottle. Have a sponge handy to absorb any excess water. You want your paper to be evenly saturated. Then apply your watercolor.

Dry Brush Technique - With the dry brush technique, your paper is completely dry. You then apply a fairly dry pigment with very little water to the paper. The dry brush technique should only be used where you want to draw focus or create texture in your painting. It's always a good idea to use various watercolor brush techniques in a single painting. This results in a more interesting painting.

Lifting Off Technique - Artists use this technique when they want to remove watercolor from a certain area of the panting. It is usually done by first wetting the area that needs to be removed with a clean sponge and then absorbing the color with a tissue. If you find that the color does not come off right away, then let the water soak in a bit longer and try again. If you still are unable to remove the color, then dampen a bristle brush and gently scrub the area. You should use extreme care with this watercolor technique, as there is a risk you can damage the paper.

I hope this article on watercolor techniques has helped. Happy Painting! Edrenaline ST06 Compact Foldable Scooter with Black Carry Bag ~ kick scooter carry bag

Buying Your First Model Train

Selecting the right model train can be a difficult task for the newcomer to the model-railroading hobby. There are so many trains out there, each in a different size. In this article, I am going to discuss a couple important things to know before buying your first model train. I know firsthand how that very first trip to the model train store can feel. After reading this article, you will have a better understanding of what to look for.

Space and Scale

Before you even think of building a model train set, you need to know just how much space youll have for it. When you purchase a model train, it has a scale associated with it. The scale informs you of the size of the train. The majority of model train enthusiasts love the HO scale because it takes limited space for a regular setup and the detail is nice. If space is at a premium for you, look into N scale trains. These can be run in the smallest of spaces. One of my favorites is the O Scale, sometimes called O Gauge, trains. These are big boys and come with great detail. If you have at least a 6 foot by 6 foot space, you can setup a decent O scale layout. O scale model trains and accessories are typically more expensive, but they are worth it in my opinion.

Requirements

It is possible to setup your own model railroad piece by piece or to buy a complete kit. Generally, a complete kit will lack the frills associated with model railroad setups like scenery, but you can be up and running in minutes. If you end up buying a ready-to-run complete set, you can add-on to it easily by simply buying the parts you desire. Also you can run other trains on the track. Just make sure to buy the same scale as your setup. For example, if you bought a HO scale set, you want to buy HO model trains in the future.

Some Things to Look For

When buying your new model train, look to see if it is DCC enabled. This is a big one. You want to have your train DCC enabled, if possible, so you can run other trains at the same time with ease. Should you decide one train is enough for you, this is less of an issue, in my opinion. However, you never know. Your model train store will only have a very small fraction of the model trains and accessories that are out there. Dont feel like you have to buy what they have. The Internet is full of model train stores.

Finally, I recommend that you look for a model train store in your area and go talk to them. You can learn a lot very quickly by talking with someone in person who cares about the hobby. While hobby stores are ok, a store dedicated to model railroading is far superior in every aspect. The probability of finding someone who really knows about model railroading in detail at a general hobby store is minimal at best.

Scrabble A Must-have Board Game For Word Enthusiasts

Scrabble is actually quite simple to play. The point of this board game is to come up with a word or words by placing letter tiles on the scrabble board in such a way that the tiles would yield the most number of points. Scrabble is a great board game because it helps build vocabulary. Not only that, scrabble also helps in developing the use of logic, because it is also a game of strategy.

In order to play scrabble, you will need a scrabble set. The scrabble set consists of the scrabble board, four racks, a tile bag, and 100 letter tiles. Up to four people can play scrabble, but some people enjoy putting up teams who will pit their vocabulary skills against each other using only one scrabble set. Scrabble can also be played solo, just like the card game solitaire.

A dictionary would also be handy for challenges. There is an official scrabble game dictionary available, but any other dictionary will do.

Scoring in Scrabble

Scoring in scrabble is determined by two things: the value of the tiles used in the word and the placement of the tiles on the board. There is also a 50-point bonus for players who were able to utilize all their tiles in one single round.

As said earlier, there are 100 letter tiles in each scrabble set. These tiles consist of 98 tiles with the letters of the alphabet, as well as two blank tiles. A player can assign any letter to a blank tile.

These letter tiles have the following values. These values are said to be based on how common these letters appear in the words of the English language.

* 0 point – blank tiles
* 1 point – A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, U
* 2 points – D, G
* 3 points – B, C, M, P
* 4 points – F, H, V, W, Y
* 5 points – K
* 8 points – J, X
* 10 points – Q, Z

As for the scrabble board, this board is made up of 15 x 15 squares that are separated by gridlines. Some of these squares are colored to indicate bonus scores, either for the letter placed on the square or the whole word that covers the space that includes the square. These bonus squares are:

* Double Letter Score – typically a light blue square, it doubles the value of the letter tile that was placed on it.
* Triple Letter Score – usually a dark blue square that trebles the value of the letter tile placed upon it.
* Double Word Score – a pink or light red square that doubles the total value of a word when one of the tiles of this word lands on it.
* Triple Word Score – a dark red square that triples the total value of a word when one of the tiles making up this word is placed on it.

Whenever a word is played on the board in scrabble, the value of the doubled and tripled letters, whenever applicable, are added to the value of the other tiles used for the word. This sum is then doubled or tripled if the word covers a square with a double-word or a triple-word score. The resulting number is the player’s score for that word.

If a blank tile lands on a double- or triple-letter square, the score of the tile remains zero. However, if this blank tile is placed on a double- or a triple-word square, the bonus applies for the word that includes the blank tile.

If a whole word touches two double-word squares, then the value of the word is doubled twice. If the whole word touches two triple-word squares, then its value is tripled, and then tripled again.

If a player manages to use all seven of his tiles in a single round, he gets a 50-point bonus in addition to the computed value of the word he played.

The bonuses on these special squares are applicable only during the turn wherein the tiles that landed on them were first placed.

The Rules of the Scrabble Board Game

This is the procedure by which scrabble is played:

1. At the start of the scrabble game, each player draws one tile from the tile bag to determine who will play first. The player who draws a blank tile, the letter A or any letter closest to the start of the alphabet goes first, and the play goes clockwise from this first player. All tiles drawn at this point will be returned to the bag. All players are then allowed to draw a fresh set of seven tiles in turns starting from the first player. These tiles are placed on the racks provided and must be kept away from view. At any given point, a player is allowed only seven tiles on his rack.

2. On every turn, a player is allowed to play a word or either exchange his tiles or pass his turn. The first player must form a word using two or more tiles and place these tiles on the star at the center square of the scrabble board, whether horizontally or vertically, as long as this word touches the star square.

3. Any player may pass his turn. When he makes a pass, he may be allowed to replace his tiles if he wishes to. He must return the tiles he wishes to exchange into the tile bag first before drawing new tiles.

4. Once a player is done placing his tiles on the scrabble board, his score is then calculated as described in the previous section. He is then allowed to replace the tiles he has played.

5. The subsequent players may make their plays on the scrabble board by either:

a. Adding one or more tiles at the beginning of a word to form a new word.
b. Adding tiles at a perpendicular angle to an already played word, using one of the tiles of the said word.
c. Placing the tiles parallel to an already played word; where the tiles of the new word touch the tiles of the old word, other new words should be formed.
d. Putting a single tile to an already played word.

6. A player may challenge his opponent's word before the scores have been tallied. This is the only time that the dictionary may be opened. If the challenged word is proven unacceptable, the challenged player takes back his tiles and loses his turn.

A scrabble game ends when the tile bag is empty and a player places his last tile on the board. It also ends when all players have passed in two consecutive turns. At this point, all scores are tallied. If a player has unused tiles at the end of the game, the value of his tiles are subtracted from his total score. The player who first used up all his tiles gets the value of all the unused tiles of his opponents added to his own score. The person who gets the highest score wins the board game.Rimable 3 Wheels Foldable Swing Frog Scooter Pink (Unique Scooter in 2015) ~ kick scooter adult 3 wheel
